Architecture Maturity Model
There is a wealth of data coming from our membership all the time. The successes can be duplicated and the failures avoided if we know where to look and what to repeat. To understand direction organizations must be able to analyse their current environment. The Iasa Maturity Model will give large and small architect teams a means of evaluating their current maturity and set goals for growing their maturity over time.
Trends and Techniques
One of the most exciting new additions to the ITABoK, trends and techniques detail the common industry trends, technologies and techniques in practice today. This information, compiled solely from non-vendor, non-marketing firms and architects details the pros and cons, benefits, risks and business cases for the most common architectural trends in the market. If you or your organization are looking at Cloud Computing, Cognitive, Big Data, IoT, Agile Architecture, Microservices or any of the dozens of new ideas out there, this is an unbeatable resources for making critical investment decisions.
Framework Reference Guides
The Iasa Body of Knowledge is not framework specific. Frameworks like SAFe, TOGAF, FEAF, ITIL and more to be successful. The ITABoK gives you people that can work with any framework or with none at all. This future section of the ITABoK will give your team usage and connectivity to the many great frameworks on the market, their strengths and weaknesses and real life case studies on implementation. Also included is a guide for connecting your framework of choice to the ITABoK through skills and experience.
Education Reference Guides
Many universities and training providers have realized that architecture is missing in their curricula. The education reference guide provides a means and guidelines for writing curricula that supports and enhances the ITABoK. If your organization is building architect education and training, you may use this guide to make it ITABoK compatible. In addition, this program will include guidelines for getting your curriculum accredited by Iasa.
Associate Body of Knowledge and Tools
The ITABoK version 2.0 contains the full material from the Core and Foundation levels of knowledge. However, this material will be split into Foundation and Associate levels in version 3.0. This will better support preparation for the CITA-F and CITA-A exams, as well as our experiential board exams, the CITA-S and CITA-P. And even more exciting Iasa is gathering templates and worked examples of all types of architecture artifacts, from models, views, viewpoints, architecture descriptions to risk management, cost benefit analysis, and governance templates.
There is currently no toolset that supports the primary elements of the engagement model and an architect teams needs. Iasa is working with our members to redefine this space. To describe the desired tools to make architecture easier and to catalog relevant architect tools in the marketplace, with non-biased, non-vendor based ratings.
Industry Reference Models
Too many architect teams have to start from ‘scratch’ with industry-specific business and technical capability models, reference business processes, technology innovation within their industry. Iasa is working with our industry forum-members to define and create reusable architecture assets that you can download and put into practice within your specific industry vertical. These assets will not replace existing standards and best practices from wonderful organizations like the APQC, but will connect these activities together with the Iasa Engagement Model and add value and useful resources.
Career Management Guide
The credential management section will be updated to include mappings to standard industry credentials as well as further data on existing credentials and credential requirements in the marketplace. This will include credential assessments which allow you to better manage your career.
Through our corporate membership, Iasa has begun studying architecture compensation by type, region and experience. We will publish our salary surveys, compensation program descriptions and HR-friendly compensation planning tools.
Industry Research Material
In our constant search for working best practice, Iasa has begun doing significant research. Check back in version 3 for published reports on innovation, thought leadership and team dynamics.
