I will be presenting at the Australian EA Conference 2013 on November 19th held in partnership with the ACS and the AEA. I’m extremely excited about this as we have a strong group of leaders building out the new Australian architecture chapter and the program looks to be very exciting. Other speakers include John Zachman who I just had the pleasure of meeting in Colombia at our IWS, and a host of other thought leaders from Cisco, Earnst and Young and more. My topic is called “You are spending too little on IT” and is a discussion of how IT teams go about arranging for budget and how in today’s IT we have to be much more capable in the language of value. I will also be teaching a one day workshop on IT Value Management and Engagement. I hope to be able to bring in topics from our new partnership with the IVI based on the IT-CMF.

If you get to attend one event this year make it the EA Conference!

Here’s the overview of the event:

Learn about best practices and the latest thinking in: • Business architecture • Measuring the value and impact of EA • Using EA to drive business transformation • Service oriented architecture • Portfolio management • Establishing a global EA programme • Using EA to guide IT investments • Linking IT strategy to business strategy.

Australia has never had a national conference on enterprise architecture. For the first time, this conference will provide a national forum for sharing experiences, best practices and the latest thinking about EA.
